How long does it take for the vacancy bids to run and be posted?
Also, is the effective date ever be updated/changed? If I was told I’d be transferred in September could they subsequently hold me back until October, November, or December?

Adding to his question, are any of the CA upgrades training being delayed from the last vacancy?

2 to 3 weeks to process award. Annoying. They run it a million times to try to get the lowest cost solution.
Some people always get withheld from their award for various reasons. They can do it up to 1 year. You are pay protected.
Yes people have had their training date pushed back after the final Awards have published (containing your expected training date)

there isn’t one. I mean this bid award has 3-4 months worth of training slots. Yes some people will be withheld from their award beyond that but that could be for many reasons, including a need for them in their current seat. That has always been the case.
There is no large gap between the classroom/procedure trainer and sims and IOE if that’s what you mean. There IS a gap between Indoc and Aircraft training for new hires though.
I will say there has been way more cancelled CQTs and individual lessons for guys getting initial due to CKA manning. They are thin and really no coverage for sick calls and missed commutes. The first 7 sims don’t require a CKA though.

I suddenly jumped about 20% in my bidding position between June and July on the 737, so it seems a bit of a backlog might have just cleared up. Regardless, enjoying FO seniority for CA pay wouldn't bug me too much.
