I am truly glad that you have had good experiences

Things on the traiing side have gotten much better over the last few years, and especially with the newer cka. The issues I mentiond are more systemic than an indictment of ang individual, all of the truly difficult individuals are gone, at least from the -80 fleet.

The issues are not, entirely, and if you read their manuals, and then go to their training and listen to what they collectively teach, you will see that.

The comment on basic flying skills vs paint-by-number button pushing is still pretty accurate. A basic hand flown ILS is treated as a full on emergency, and encourage the NFP to "talk the FP through it", for example.

I will agree that no matter any of that, the instructors do genuinely want you to succeed and will work with anyone who is working to see that happen

I've been cautiously optimistic and still am for many of the reasons you sight, plus I'm at the top of the Constructive Notice New Hire list which seems like a good place to be.

These new reserve rules coming with the JCBA are a kick in the balls though (and yes I'm new to the airline industry). I just learned today that when they fly us into our day off (before noon), they don't have to give us back that day off or pay us premium (I have yet to confirm this). It put me in a bad mood...
What's JCBA stand for? Thanks!

Hey guys, interviewing later this month and was hoping for any gouge from recent interviewees. I've read the last 50 or so pages but more info is always appreciated. I've heard mention of "studying" for the cog test but how do you do that? Is there a website or something with the type of math questions to expect? Just a civilian OTS who was shocked to get the call so don't want to screw it up. Feel free to PM me. Thanks

JCBA - Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement.

A new contract after the merger occurred. It's our current contract. Certain events couldn't occur until after the merger but they were agreed upon prior to the merger if US mgt was able to take control. The latest, and perhaps biggest, was the process to get to one seniority list (SLI) that was announced on Tuesday.

No need to study for the cog test.
