I heard Jan 9, but no idea of class size. I cannot personally confirm the date.

PBS seems to create some pretty ugly awards for junior pilots too, not that MIA didn't have that before PBS. Line holder group 2 FO pay is about what Group 4 reserve FO pays. Line holding group 4 FO pays about the same as reserve group 2 CA.
So upgrade time at AA will come down significanlty. My belief.
I Adamantly disagree about ur assumption on group 2 v 4 pay. No way group 2 pays the same as group 4 FO pays. I am on reserve and it pays 73-76. Even if I decide to bid a line I fly a 70-75 hour line. Group 4 FO pays $40-$50 more per hour so ur math is flawed. Nobody should be flying 95 hours a month. Get a hobby.

I can’t tell you numbers, but here are all the upcoming dates: Jan 9 and 23, Feb 6 and 20, Mar 6 and 20.

75 hrs of G2 CA rsv pays the same as 90hrs of G4 FO.

G4 FO’s evaluate upgrading to reserve G2, or staying G4 FO, all the time. They all have an answer to the question “upgrading or staying G4 FO?”

And the frequent answer is “why be on call for the same pay?” For some the answer is “no thanks” and for others being on reserve as a G2 CA, despite the loss of relative seniority but working less, is worth it.

Some hobbies are expensive. More money helps.

I keep hearing the only way for a schmuck like me (non-military CA for a non-wholly owned regional) to have a chance at an interview is going to be job fairs and networking. It appears to me that AA only shows up to OBAP and WAI.

Is anyone aware of key events I ought to concern myself with other than OBAP and WAI?

I wouldn't waste my time at any job fairs for AA. I don't think it moves the needle.

I wonder what moves the needle, then. I know priorities shift around as time moves on, too, so there's certainly an element of being what they're looking for at the right time.
