The bottom line is that they can and will train their way out of the attrition issue. We've got more leverage than just that when negotiations open next year. Things will get better. How much better is the real question.

We've hired a ton since the beginning of the year, so no clue what's going on. With such few upgrades I'm not hopeful for growth. I'm guessing they'll be like 10 upgrades this bid, not the rumored 50 people think. We'll see in a few days. I also heard they're taking a month or two off on classes for those of you in the pool.

From: Ex USAF, ex-ATA , currently Atlas Air 747 CA
I was in MIA for a PC last week. The word from HQ (we were briefed by the new fellow in charge of standardization) was 50 747 upgrades this year. Take that for what it is worth. There are a good many things in the equation that have to be sorted out. Still, this is a place wherein I have found my niche and enjoy very much the sort of flying we do. It's not for everyone. If you have read these pages then you know that things change here hourly. Should that be a problem, then Atlas won't be a good fit. If you can deal with change and if you enjoy the challenge of flying to oddball places in the world then come on in, the water's fine!!
