Hard numbers: I made 36,XXX NET my first year (12 full months) at Atlas.

Surreal considering the aircraft type, and places I am operating into. Would be tolerable if you got a huge 2nd year snap-back (UPS,FDX, etc) but alas, none to be had.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

Lets see......$79.60/hr. x 50 hr guarantee (x12 mos.) = 47,760

takeout out for taxes and benefits and you would be around $30-32K.

You must be one of the SOB's working the OT.

.....just kidding

...although the pay really does suck.

At least the top 5 execs are getting a $60 million bonus soon!

FUPM = F@CK YOU PAY ME!

NET pay is not the best to use for comparison. Which health plan did you choose, how much did you contribute to your 401K, how many exemptions did you claim?

My first year GROSS W-2 wages at Atlas were $47,875 as a 747 FO. That was 2013 but the pay scale hasn't changed. I NEVER voluntarily worked on day off (VX), I was in the hostile fire pool and I did drop 3-4 days per month MIL. I got involuntarily extended into a day off maybe once.

I was paid a range of 50-73 hours/mo with an average of 61 hours of pay after completion of OE.

Thanks for the hard numbers; you have successfully resolved ONE major question I had about the job.

I don't see how anyone could reasonably survive on that pay (and I was an RJ pilot for a couple years). For me it represents about a $80k pay cut albeit from a mostly undesirable flying job.

I supplemented with USAF Reserve income so we didn't have to eat too much ramen.

I was thinking first year pay would be around the 65k mark. 30 odd is regional territory.

4 FULL months of $1600 before taxes. OE is still so backed up that one must plan on another two + months at 50 hours sitting at home. 6 more months of scheduling messing with your schedule (yes, many times they will change your schedule and you will literally LOSE money, which is fully legal in the CBA). I can see a first year guy getting around 40k. FYI, I didn't break 100k until year 4.

SUB-regional.... with many/most all regionals now dishing out hiring/retention "bonuses"... $50k+ FIRST year is becoming the norm... even @ regionals. 😳

Don't forget, the company is trying really hard to get an amalgamated contract with Southern so the first year pay will decrease even further with a worse quality of life tagged on to it. Better compensation packages are being offered at the regional level. With Bezos/Amazon about to buy a good chunk of AAWW, one can imagine how long before the horror stories of hot warehouses, refused paychecks, horrible working schedules and "shut up and color" management attitudes creep there way over into the airline side of the house. If you think it's bad now, go look up stories about working for Amazon. We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg of crap coming our way. I'm willing to bet Amazon lobbyist have bigger checkbooks than Teamsters lobbyist to keep things moving.

Guys and gals have now hit the 5 month mark waiting on OE... Three months of training, 5 months of OE on very little pay.

I don't know who can go 8 months without a proper check. Many new hires had high hopes. Now I see them leaving before they even do one day of OE.

It's all too bad...
