Senior F/O - August: Operate ORD-HNL, DH home. Vacation is a wonderful thing. Would be better if taking vacation didn't pull you down to guarantee.

Is it true that if you haven't broken the monthly guarantee you get paid by the rig ? (4.85 /day)

Does this trump the monthly guarantee of 50 hrs in the first year ?

To make things a bit clear, say I was gone for 17 days but flew 30 hrs only.

Do I get paid 50 hrs or (17×4.85) hrs for that month ?

Thanks

You get paid the greater of Credit, Rig, of Guarantee. So in your example you would be paid on Rig or 4.95 hours for each hour you were away from base (That's very generic definition, but it is the gist.)

(17x4.85) is what you will get paid; but, because of the start times and end times, (start day and end day being half days for example) you'd more realistically be looking at 16 days worth of pay, so, a little over 77 hours is what you would be paid for the month in that scenario.

Let's be real. No one ever breaks rig. It's happened before but the exception not the rule. You are a salaried employee at 4.85 a day. End of story.

767 - sit R2 someplace then get sent home early for unpaid R1 and make guarantee, never break the incredibly low guarantee. Enjoy your worst pay in the industry! Tada!

The rig is TAFB (in hours)/4.95. Below is an example of a line with a single 15 day trip. The CRT (at the bottom) pays 69.43 hours.

Crew Route Statistics
Block Time : 23:30 DH Hours : 45:30 Required Rest : 67:40 hours
Duty Time : 108:40 Night Hours : 2:00 Next Posble Duty : Sat01Oct at 11:00
FDP : 45:30 TAFB : 343:35 (14 days & 7:35 hours
Credit Hours : 39.45 Crew Complement : 1CA 1FO
CRT Rig : 69.43

I've worked at Atlas for almost 5 years and have broken for hours twice. One was on a prorated guarantee due to Mil leave. This statement is very true. Atlas's scheduling is way too inefficient to schedule pilots for more than 75 hours in 17 days.
