Well, he most likely will get called and will get a better paycheck. At the end of the day, it is what matters for most of us, not the airplane we fly.

Recently I've flown with several FOs from the late April class that are already off OE.
You were able to finish OE more quickly because there was a pause in hiring at the beginning of the year.

NOW the pipeline is jammed once again.

There used to be a place called Flightinfo.......then along came General Lee......FI no longer has relevance. The more that the likes of LAXative are allowed lower the discussion to constant and irrelevant baiting then the sooner this place will follow the fate of FI. (Mods beware.)

Take your typical 10,000+ hr. RJ captain. You can't tell me with a straight face that when they taxi around the airport and they see a 747 that they don't instantly start to sprout wood and imagine themselves at the controls of the Queen of the skies. So much so that they start to use excessive judgmental oversteer while taxiing, fantasizing they are behind the tiller of the whale.

You should be an aviator, not just a pilot. You should eat, breathe, live and sleep aviation.... 24/7/365. Every waking moment should be focused on advancing your career and that culminates with flying the whale.

You must be taking a ton of deductions, I made over twice that just flying my regular line on first year pay.

If you only credit around 60-64 hrs of pay for a month... after deductions for family benefits, and federal and state taxes it works out to right around $2400-$2700 per month take home.
