About 1/2 of regional pilots, and probably all pilots, won't do long haul. Next Atlas will have to hire C-172 instructors With bareach ATPSs. Current new hire attrition about 50% is the rumour...and no-shows for class.
And next year it will only be worse. Long time Atlas pilots who were thinking they would just wait it out....are now starting to realize that is going to be a long time. They are giving up and looking elsewhere.

Attrition will increase. Experience levels will continue to go down.

Meanwhile Atlas needs a shat ton of more pilots to staff the Amazon birds. Where are they going to come from and how are they going to be trained? Every time Atlas tries to increase newhires the backlog for IOE gets ridiculously long.

I'll apply again then for the third time. Perhaps this time my resume will actually be reviewed....

747 OE backlog is almost dried up. Now the 767 OE is starting to get backed up.

This is due to how Atlas completes IOE and initial type ride training. At other airlines IOE is part of the entire training process. Instead Atlas separates the type ride from IOE. IOW you'll complete your type ride and then bid for when you want to fly after your type ride. if you don't match up with an LCA then you don't complete your IOE. Also, there are so many changes to schedules that even when you are paired up with an LCA the likelihood of staying matched to that LCA is minimal. Hence it takes a long time to get matched up with an LCA and once you are finally matched up they'll rip the LCA away for another trip and leave you stranded.

Exactly........and then there is no protocol to complete consolidation. All real airlines have these issues addressed in a proper and comprehensive training section of a real CBA in order to produce a competent and confident crew member to operate your aircraft in a safe and compliant manner. We still operate as if the classes were once in a blue moon and the new hire came from Flying Tigers!

Who has gotten a call for the September 12 new hire class? Is it all 767 or are there 2 classes 767 and 747?

Thanks

Sept 19 is a 747 class.

They don't mix 767/747 classes anymore.

If you're not offered a job after the interview, does HR send a TBNT letter?
