But, just because someone calls it rhetoric or tells you to tone it down, you come unglued with personal attacks against that individual. An effective argument is won with decisive facts, not by yelling the same point over and over again even louder.

I am not trying to persuade any of you away from your fervor and motivation for a better contract but you ALL yourselves have acknowledged the following facts in one form or another:

  • The company keeps finding pilots.

  • The company has a team of cutthroat lawyers that they are using to engage us and the union.

  • The company has money and they are not giving us any.

You have all at one point or another also made the following points among several others but these will suffice to make the point:

  • Atlas is in a crisis.

  • This place is a **** show.

  • if the check airmen would all just quit then we would bring this place to its knees.

  • We are in danger of losing contracts

The first three points can be easily substantiated and have been done so numerous times ad nauseam, 10K, 10Q, etc. The latter points are just opinions or hypothetical scenarios. I am just a laborer here but the way I see it, we are losing. The company is apparently playing their cards properly seemingly with a trump card in their hand and our union doesn't seem to have an answer for any of the moves the company has made. The big players like DHL and Amazon are moving forward with Atlas as a partner and there doesn't seem to be any signs of that coming apart. When we run around like chickens with our heads cut off, ranting and raving about wanting money just makes us look like very little fish in a big sea. Acting like this in my opinion lends credibility to the notion that the company is treating us in proportion to our behavior.

So, to a prospective candidate that would like to come to this way off topic thread that has turned into a whining platform, what are they to believe after hearing unsubstantiated rants? They will not only stop reading but will not believe them either and will go elsewhere for information. What is left is a group of the same handful of posters patting each other on the back spouting the same garbage to each other said different ways each time yelling louder and shooting insults at those who dissent.

From a business standpoint, I don't agree with Atlas' tactics but I understand it enough to accept that this is part of the decision that I made to fly at Atlas. So why the insults? You can all certainly dish out sarcasm so please learn to take it as well. I agree with your points as I have always stated, just not your methods conveying that information.
You've seriously accepted that what's going right now is part of the decision you've made to fly at Atlas? I think you need to replace "fly" with "work for management".

I can only respond to your absurdities with utter bewilderment, because this is what I was talking about....I did not direct anything toward you as a person in this post and yet you personally attack me. Why is it that I can't disagree with you without being called "management".

I have said earlier that I have accepted what is going on right now only to the extent that I understand it, NOT that I like it. Understanding is a way for me to reconcile my career decisions to gauge if/when/where I need to make a change. Straightforward.

This deteriorated quickly, from super informative hiring/interview info, into a worthless rant. The contract sucks and the Company is screwing you...got it already.

People need to stop making crap up... there's enuf real news that we don't need fake news. Fact is that they are hiring on both sides. Started 2 767 classes with FW Pilots, yes 2 classes were cancelled and that sucks for the people effected, but bottom line is the company added exactly the same # of people they planned to add via the classes they cancelled by replacing the "cancelled" classes with the FW Pilots. Moreover, there's another 747 class starting in the next few weeks, seems strange that new hire classes continue at a place that's "not hiring". Again there's enough screwed up crap that's real... let's stick to truth/facts and leave the lies to the msg board trolls and management.

There's enough fake news here to make Breitbart blush. Atlas has been doing interviews for Southern for quite some time. You get offered 777 class just like 767 and 747 it just depends on which type is on deck at the school house and in need of seats. They're still more than happy to put you in whatever type you want as long as you are willing to wait.

If you need a job yesterday and the 777 is the next available class it might be good for someone same for waiting around a month or so for the 747 if you have that luxury. Just like every airline though every class that gets passed up (even southern) is more people underneath you on an eventual joint seniority list. In Southern's case it's a bit of a gamble for how long until the joint CBA is signed but hey that's aviation.

Whatever, iPilot. The point is they are lying to applicants through their teeth and telling them a contract and SLI will be signed by October. Our own CEO has contradicted that statement. That's enough fake news to make Don Lemon jealous.

If I had a nickel for every time a recruiter is a bit optimistic when talking about the company to new hires...

Why would they be worried? Doesn't matter if they win or lose, because they win either way. Their goal is to delay signing a new contract as long as possible. The longer they delay a new CBA, the more they save and the more it costs us. Anyone who thinks we are gonna get "retro pay" is sadly mistaken, ain't gonna happen as management won't give back their savings earned through the delayed CBA.
