After talking with another new hire, who told me in the interview they were hiring foreign pilots, having a foreign pilot ask me about getting hired at Atlas, and having just looked at the latest Atlas Air hiring page, Atlas is hiring foreign pilots, without a US passport/green card/right to work in the US.
From the Atlas Air FO job page:
If you want widebody, you need an FAA unrestricted ATP, with a valid passport, with no travel restrictions. There was NO MENTION of any a US passport/green card/visa to work in the US to apply.
If you want 737, you need an FAA restricted/unrestricted ATP. There was no mention of any passport at all.
I have heard, that some of our foreign pilots that have been hired without any US right to work, have taken 9 months or more, to get the right to work permission. You would be on first year pay, and not flying, until you got the paperwork completed.
According to several new hires I have talked to, Atlas will work with foreign pilots to help get them the right to work in the US.
And, all of the above, has nothing to do with the Australian special visa program, for Australians to fly for a US company.

It’s just not happening. Maybe the odd one or two, but it’s costly and very time consuming. The classes are still full, and E3 visas are a piece of cake for Atlas, so as long as the above doesn’t change, I don’t see much change in the foreign policy

Agreed, haven’t we been down this road 5-6 times already.
Doesn’t matter what you see on the web pages, the only foreign pilots getting hired have a Green Card, a E-3 visa or marry an American or a wife with the right to work in the US.
Please stop encouraging other foreign pilots, it’s a huge waste of time

You could easily be right, that Atlas is not hiring foreign pilots without the right to work.
If so, then Atlas needs to change it's minimum requirements on the hiring page, because they are wrong.
And, all the people in the HR process needs to stop telling our interviewees and new hires that what is on the minimum requirements hiring page is correct.
