Agree with Talon, it's best to make sure this life is what you want and that your family understands what the life style is. I was gone from home three weeks for my first OE trip. The other factor to consider is the amount of dead-heading that you will do. I know some guys hate to deadhead so keep that in mind also. My next pattern has 3 commercials and 3 deadheads to operate 2 legs. Atlas is a good company and I'm glad to be here, just really think about the lifestyle before you take up space in class.

Where are you based? I almost NEVER deadhead and I have only been with the company for a year. If I do have a DH on my schedule, it almost always turns into an operating flight. I am based in HSV and rarely DH.

Scheduling ebbs and flows. In any case they own me for 17 days, and what they do with me is their business. This mindset keeps me sane.

HR called a month ago and told me to return the call. Since then, I have called back daily and left a message once a week without reaching them. Should I give up this strategy, and hope they call me on the next go-around, or keep going?

I am about half way through my journey through this thread (although I occasionally jump ahead to the end). Atlas seems like a very cool job. I sent in my resume/PAQ about a month ago, and updated it last week. How soon can I expect a call, if I'm going to get one? I'm a former military guy, currently a regional FO, with about 3700 total time, 1400 PIC (all military). I've seen it posted on here that guys get hired with less time than me, but also a whole lot more. Realistically, what are my chances?

A lot of us are waiting for the call to make it past the HR Gatekeepers. From everything I have seen, patience seems to be the trait we will need to endure to make it to class.
This thread is a required reading. A lot of investment material in here. As a few have said, when the call comes, the information contained herein will help you make it through the process----study material, interview material, etc. Also, lots of good investment updates regularly on the Atlas website. Don't forget that.
Good luck...a lot of us have been trying to help where we can----even potential FnGs wannabees.

I'm new to this forum, although I've been reading it for a while. I sent my resume/PAQ on Aug 15, got the call for the phone interview Oct 2, took the online test this morning and got a call this afternoon. I interview on Oct 18. Hope to meet some of you there!

Congrats! Mind sharing your online test experience? Internal recommendations?
