This place became depressing after december 17th 2007 and when ANC domicile became a assisted living base

I thought that during a realignment bid, only those members who are in excess positions (ONT and DC8 Capts and FO's in this case) would be allowed to bid on the listed vacancies.

In pure vacancy bid, however, everyone could bid on vacancies.

Am I smoking crack or what? According to 14.F.4:
In a realignment vacancy bid there will be no transitions or
upgrades to excess vacancies.

You are right, it could certainly be worse. It has been a bit depressing seeing nothing but backwards movement for the past 2 years, with no end in sight. I've served 2 years in ANC, and thought I would be getting close to the end of my tour, but it looks like we are going to be here another 3 years. At least the over 60 folks get to have mine too!

The NDs bidding FO baffle me. They can retire and make 60k plus B plan and investment distibutions. They are effectively undercutting the rest of us by working for 50% pay. The sad thing is they could not care less about hiw their actions effect others.
I'm just wondering when we get to geezer age, if we'll always be getting things our way like these guys are.

Simply put, that's the difference between age 60 retirements and age 65 retirements.

"Normal" retirement numbers will not return until late 2013.

Then throw in a slumping economy and retirement of 3 fleet types since we got here ...

------------------------------------------

Question for anyone ... what's the deal with no bypass of anyone on this bid ? I did read that right didn't I ?

Just flexing their rights to force someone to only bid what they would be willing to fly ?

Just curious ... it will have no affect on my position in ANC, I think.

Someone mentioned this in an earlier thread, but I think it's worth mentioning again (because bashing the over 60 crowd on a private message board is one way to vent our frustration).

How about penalizing someone for retiring after age 60 similarly to the penalties we have for retiring before 60??? I know, I know, "Cutting Off One's Nose to Spite One's Face".

But if it makes us feel better in the short term
