UPS Realignment/Displacement bid is out!

I think of it as mid-level management JOB SECURITY. THe more training events they can create in a year, the more need and justification for "managers" as trainers.
Etc, etc ...

It sure is!
I wonder why the hell I came here in the first place! Even before age 65, they were already displacing people. (think 727)
I'm on my 4th airline, and this is the only place I've EVER moved backwards (every 3 or 4 months!!!). So much for coming to UPS for "stability".
What a joke!!
Can I get a do-over?

Someone mentioned this in an earlier thread, but I think it's worth mentioning again (because bashing the over 60 crowd on a private message board is one way to vent our frustration).
How about penalizing someone for retiring after age 60 similarly to the penalties we have for retiring before 60??? I know, I know, "Cutting Off One's Nose to Spite One's Face".
But if it makes us feel better in the short term

Work Till(the percentage would be subtracted off your final pension numbers):
60-61 - 3%
61-62 - 7%
62-63 -15%
63-64 -30 %
64-65 - 40%
You may think that is harsh. If you think about it though its not really. Just think that the guy/gal that does this till 65 will not live long enough to really have a retirement. They will have all the "extra" money sitting around in their B fund / 401k.
Any takers?
I doubt it. They have all convinced themselves that they are gonna live to be 100 and REALLY "need" the money.
Is my sarcasm light bright enough???

To those who disparage the over 60 crowd, if its any consolation, alot of these guys lost a ton of cash in the market/retirement accounts, The ultimate irony is if they had retired at age 60 they would probably have much more cash in their retirement accounts then they'll have when they retire at 65!! due to the m
arket crash. So they are working for nothing, cept some benefits...Ironic

I get a good laugh at all the guys bashing the over 60 crowd, the guy with and ex wife or high expenses. No one knows what's round the corner for them. Do you "know" their stories?? I am still a young guy and already divorced, not by choice. Just about had my house paid off, no credit cards and car debt. Well ... that all changed. I think we are all quick to point fingers at members in our group and apply labels, cast stones. No one is immune from drawing the wrong card at the wrong time. The laws changed, a contract is in place (which somehow we voted in). Let's live by it and allow people to run their program within the guidelines of what the FAA, the company and the union have put in place. Guys want/need to fly over 60, not my cup of tea ... but we are not in their shoes. Be careful casting the first stone, you may be on the receiving end someday ...
