Aircraft and maintenance are great in my opinion. People bust on Omni on these forums because they're stingy with pay and the like, but they don't mess around when it comes to maintenance/aircraft reliability.

Omni is the only 767 airline operator that is currently approved for single engine autoland. This necessitates a pretty high level of maintenance. Omni reminds me of ATA in the early days. Same type of flying, crew scheduling and pay but, very competent at what they do. If a young (or old) guy wants to learn how to operate big jets all over the world, Omni would be a good choice. No need to go there and immediately whine about the travel, pay and scheduling, the folks doing the interviewing don't pull any punches about that stuff. No touchy feely HR stuff, just the facts about the reality of working at Omni.

Reliability has gone down over the last year or so. Lost contracts with maintence and scheduling problems. You do some DH on our aircraft it is hit or miss on the amount. You can count on a 22 hour DH day unless gateway is involved then it may be much longer due to several stops once you hit the states. Hope this helps.

Applied via email 4/28/15, received a call yesterday to fill out application and then ended up doing phone interview same day as well. I feel like it went well but have to wait and see if I get the invite to go to Tulsa for the face to face interview. I really hope they call me back, seems like a great place to work. I don't want to get to excited because it's so early in the process but I was thrilled to get the call yesterday.

If JetBlue didn't call you back, are you still an XJT Captain? I would stay an XJT Captain.
There are literally people leaving here for lower paying jobs (our pay is already low) at regionals and other carriers. This is not a "grass is always greener" scenario, it's more like the grass is dead.

PSA and Mesa, that I know of. Also a 777 CA just quit to go to one of the ULCC airbus operators...$80,000 paycut...take that for what it is.
The only people coming here are the optimistic hopefuls who will leave as bitter and broken as the rest of us, or people with severe SJS.
As far as MX goes...they can't even figure out how to make the printers work on our 767's. I think we have some top notch mechanics, but they literally stay on the plane for days straight (LITERALLY) without real rest. I don't even get how its legal for them to touch an airplane. And that department is also limited by the resources it is given.

Also sent in a resume in May when the company I am working for looked like it might go under; again. Got a call yesterday. Not sure its worth leaving and going through 2-3 months of training to get called by another airline soon after. At least it felt good to get called by someone.
