Just a little story. Say you were staying in a city and a drive by shooting happened. You move hotels just to be safe. Good call! Two years later your company makes reservations in a hotel one block from the earlier drive by. Front desk advises against going outside after dark. Only took a couple weeks to get car jacked. You ask why would you go back to this area. Just to save a buck!

A wise man once told me: "What's good for the company...is good for the company."

A question if a civilian crew stays on a military base is a security concern?? My current company lands at a few bases but we don't stay on base we stay at a nearby hotel. I don't suppose the Marriott is sitting next to the airport in Kandahar.

No problem, was just a question.

Is asking if you have known crewmember a concern?

Totally speculating, but I doubt they overnight there. They probably just repo to a nearby "friendlier" country.
