Why would anyone consider Omni when Kalitta has:

16 Days of duty compared with Omni's 18 days
12 yr CA pay (guarantee) $191746 currently; $219863 in 4 yrs. (Omni's 12 yr CA pay $124,000)
Business Class Travel to Omni's Basic Economy if your lucky

Why would anyone stay at Omni?

With that attitude I can only hope you have not rolled up into some corner of the company and died. There is always someplace to go. Always!

The problem with Omni as a career move: The new hires currently go to the 777 and the failure rate has been over 80% in some classes. You don’t want an unsatisfactory on your pilot record for the NEXT 10 YEARS that you will need to explain at every future interview. IF YOU PASS, once off OE you will build time and experience watching others fly the aircraft from the jump seat. Operating less than 200 hours a year most prospective employers will not consider you current which IS happening to pilots I know currently trying to get out of Omni. The pay and benefits are well below THE BOTTOM of the charter airline standards and the turmoil between the Union and the Airline is just getting started and will continue for years. Omni may not recover from the mass exodus of pilots that has already started so I don’t know how long you’re new job will last and (new pilots are the first to be furloughed) if you’re looking for a pilot job while unemployed most HR departments today consider you non-current and avoid you like the plague.

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the Play?

Just met a new B777 FO who has been off OE for 2 months and has yet to do a takeoff or landing since OE. Just does paperwork and watches others fly. He has already applied at regionals with bases that will work for him.

As long as you don't mind low pay and don't mind being sued.
