Still interesting. Maybe the Transport side DO and CP will now run the new 125 certificate as they shut down the 121 side of the house. Explains the interest in the 142 program. 🤔

Third party rumore is Omni has canceled the May and June new hire classes. Any truth to this anyone?

I understood the May class was cancelled. Hadn't heard anything on the June class. My understanding was no one is interested in Omni.

I don't believe "no one is interested in Omni". I personally know of a few folks both military and civilian that have apps in with Omni but have not been called. They don't have four degrees and like the idea of home basing.

Remember, it was all Doom and Gloom over at the Kalitta thread... until they got a new contract after YEARS of negotiations.

It's also Doom and Gloom over at the Atlas thread, ATI, ABX, etc.

Anyway, with no retro pay the company is rolling in money stretching this out as long as they want, by the time we do get a new contract it will, most likely, result in less total pay over the next 5 years than if the current offer was accepted. I agree that certain things (particularly related to travel) do need to be addressed and the Jumbo rates should apply to the Captains and FOs (not just the FOs). Furthermore, if classes continue to be filled and pilots continue making it to the line (NOV, FEB, MAR all succeeded in that) you won't be seeing the company sweetening it's offer. If they are, however, unable to fill the classes I don't see downsizing or liquidation in the cards. Rather, I believe they will first resort to extending everyone by 4 days per month/two month period while trying to get efficient with crew utilization (250 hours a year? There's a lot of efficiency to be found there alone). At that point it turns into a question of who blinks first.

This is not a true statement. There were people that didn't make it in all these classes.

That's also not what I said, perhaps I should have been clearer in saying a "portion" of classes, but I never said the entire classes were passing. Omni appears to have be content with a certain rate of unsuccessful new hires, which appears to be in the 20-30% area when looking at an entire year.

AA announced today that they are raising pilot pay 8% and flight attendant pay 5%. The pilots contract is not up for a few years but AA is raising pay now.

A sign posted in a Las Vegas casino, looked like one that should be hung in Omni cockpits, "Winners Know When To Quit."
