Oh man okay. Guess I won’t drive home 45min to north tulsa and bring some of the classmates for a home cooked meal. Got it.

You are getting good advice from people who know.

Drive the 45 minutes with your classmates for today's total immersion study session, break for the home cooked meal, then study some more before driving the 45 minutes back to Tulsa.

Here is some more advice: If you are not up to speed, it will place an additional burden on your sim partner if he has to carry your weight as well as his own.

It is hard to read inflection on a message board so I aplogise in advance if I read you wrong, but there is very little patience for petulant among your future collegues.

Omni pays for a dedicated study room at the hotel with Cockpit Procedure Trainers (paper tigers type) for both planes.
Group study is a daily thing. Instructors have been known to open the schoolhouse up on weekends and use the computerized procedure trainer to help with flows. The instructors are at the same hotel and are around a lot also.

heading home each day may be your choice, but it will effect your sim partner too. They like to see the team spirit, working together, and helping each other power study.

You’re getting good advice from all that heading home daily isn’t a good idea.

And have memorized the normals checklists challenge/responses also.

Okay got it. Just wanted to go home maybe on a saturday night to do laundry and cook some dinner. Didn’t plan on driving daily or not staying at the hotel.

Use your best judgement. You’ll be fine, but probably don’t do it *every* weekend.

OK, I am going to backpedal some of my comments. I was thinking daily trips home. My mistake; sorry for that.

24/7 immersion might hit diminishing returns. All work and no play, etc. Go home once in a while. Sometimes, but not necessarily every time, maybe invite the sim partner, or the whole gang, for a meal or a barbeque and talk about stuff other than airplanes. Next day, dive back in refreshed.

Taking a decompression day once in a while, especially at Home (capital "H") might do more good than never taking a break. Morale is important.

That’s reasonable, and understandable. My point was coming from the context of most people don’t live near Tulsa. We didn’t go home once while there. It was, for us, 24/7. That will be true for most new hires.

Default Is Omni Hiring?

Anyone know if Omni is hiring and how to apply? The only thing I could find on their website site was how to get an email if something opens up.

Thanks!

A few months ago Omni was bombarded with resumes for applications. They have since transitioned to a “window” program, where the window for applying opens and closes throughout the year. Keep checking back. Personally, I haven’t heard when the window opens again.
