Automation has contributed to the decline of airmanship, and for that lack of airmanship, more automation was created. A recent study done by the FAA/NASA revealed how much pilots don’t know about their own airplane. Out of 100 pilots evaluated it was a failing percentage that could manage flying and system malfunctions safely. It was frightening.
