Omni Air
#2611
Their page on airline pilot central says “No” under hiring info.
But seems like people are getting interviews...
Is the pay scale accurate?? It seems really good.. yet I know of a YV captain who went to Omni then came back to YV as an fo.. claiming he could make more $ ??
Is upgrade 4 years or so as it states on the page?
Is Alaska possible with home basing or do they want you in the lower-48?

A trip on a day off will get you 3.56 hours each day or block whichever is higher, plus $300 on day 1, $400 on day 2, and $500 on day three and after.
Anchorage is not on the gateway city list. That said, guys have been known to choose a notoriously expensive city as their gateway, then use ALT travel to swap to a less or equal priced flight from non gateway cities. It’s more work and no guarantee though. Jumpseating to someplace else is always an option too.

Upgrade is down to 2.5 years.
Month of OT example;
16 days (64 hour guarantee) @ 117.54: $7552.56
14 days Vol (49 hours of flight pay based on 3.56 per day: $5858.19
14 days Vol daily pay: $6700
Total pay for the month: $20,110.75
The above scenerio is unrealistic as the company isn’t going to sit you in a hotel or random location on volunteer days and not fly you.
More realist scenario:
16 days (64 hour guarantee) @ 117.54: $7552.56
5 days of volunteer with 20hours of flying
(2 days of 10 hours of flight time + 3 days of MPG(30.5 flight pay)): $3584.97
5 days of volunteer pay: $2200
Total monthly compensation: $13,337.53
You’re example scenario actually happened. Guy I know was displaced for training and then volunteered. They used him 27 out of 31 days on reserve. He flew 5 hours all month doing SEA-BFI and back repo flights. They kept taking away the flights for guys needing landings.
Rented a car and on the long call days and visited everything from Portland to Vancouver. Gross pay was $19k
Moral to story, don’t volunteer a whole month expecting only 3-5 days.

I’m currently in training now on the 767. 8 new hires in the class. All types of backgrounds but most have military backgrounds. They are backed up on the sims. Said 4-6 weeks after ground school. Also the most current upgrade on the 767 was 1 yr and 9 months. Hope this helps

A Liberal Arts degree is VERY useful for LOTS of people, and LOTS of careers. A Liberal Arts degree can get you in at at the Military, Delta, or American, for example...
