Hey XJT guys that are all over this thread, do you still fly any of the 145's that the can will not fit in all the way, or were those just the EP's. I can't remember which planes that the cans would not fit flat in.

The cup holder changed with the later LRs. The older LRs have the smaller cup holder. Yes, we still fly some of the older LRs.

But let's be honest...if anyone is actually basing their decision on the cup holders they are doing it very wrong.

If not, do you guys just use cups from the F/As for coffee... do starbucks cups fit, etc. Thanks. I'm a huge coffee drinker.
I’m a huge coffee drinker, also. Get a Brightline flight bag, get the side pocket that holds a thermos, and just keep it in there.

Yeah hawk this dudes right. The 145 is so accommodating for a sugary drink that turns straight to fat in your body.

Too bad he’ll never see anything bigger than the 145 tho, the bus has ample drink storage including on the tray table. 🤣

Not sure why you quoted my post. I was trying to point to many other factors that should be considered before someone uses cup holders to decide which regional to work for.

But enjoy your bus and it's tray table. I hope to get the bus when I get to UA.

Under the plan, United will work with Bombardier to use the frame of its current CRJ 70-seat fleet for a new two-cabin, 50-seat configuration with a self-serve beverage and snack station for premium travelers and four storage closets for carry-on bags.

The CRJ 550s will eventually replace United’s current 50-seat regional fleet with a model permitted under its pilots’ contract, which became amenable in January.
This is the dumbest thing ever. It has to be some sort of negotiating tactic.

The current 70 seater has "first class."

Heres a website with layout pictures:

https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea...d-new-crj-550/

But this would play into what United intends to do with connecting traffic going through Dulles, and then having NYC traffic fly on more premium aircraft, but not specifically connect.

IMO, it's a shot across the bow of mainline. Their contract is up and the company is playing hardball on scope.

I think it's a way to add more 70 seaters without violating scope. By converting CRJ-700s to 50 seats, they can add EMB-170/175 aircraft and still stay under the limit.
