Yep, warmer and free lodging for 3 weeks, can't beat that. Our class split is 4 weeks in MSP, 3 in STL.

Makes sense, I was thinking IPTs in STL too. Still some is better than none!

Awesome news. What does your training foot print look like during the holidays? Does ground school take off thanksgiving and xmas?
Thanks

If this is accurate, from a business standpoint this is dumb. Why would you pay for new hires lodging and per diem in STL when you can keep them in MSP and not pay anything like they've been doing. On top of that now your paying for out of base captains lodging and per diem and training in MSP, this is a weird move by TSH. Very good for the pilot group but not a typical TSH style business decision...spending more money for the same result

Contract prohibits training from noon the day before a holiday through the day following that holiday.

I think they have just reached such a critical mass in the amount of training that needs to be done that they can't avoid sending new hires to STL.

Just a guess, but I bet the type ratings that come free with the new aircraft have to be done at Flight Safety in STL.

I hadn't thought about that. Good idea.
