I'll add that there are quite a few more above that 200 mark that were/are waiting to upgrade and some are holding out for MSP as FO's and those commuting to a west coast captain position.

You would be 200ish away from the most junior Captain if you were hired tomorrow. As others have mentioned, the flows are done and upgrades are now just for attrition.
New hires are getting LAX now, with an occasional SEA. MSP is attainable within 3-4 months, but you would be on reserve for awhile.

There are 3 types of regionals: growing, shrinking, and stagnant
Compass is growing (and growing more coming soon
Compass also has the smallest amount of lifers than any other regional. Lifers take up CA spots which never turn over and stagnate the list.
