Compass Updates - Saga Continues

I stand corrected. You're absolutely right. Thanks for pointing that out. However I do stand by my assertion that pilots should be flying the book as well as holding the company accountable for it's intentional contract violations. It does appear that the MEC, based on our latest email, is still actively pursuing an agreement in regards to the violations. However, reading between the lines, it looks like it is the company intentionally dragging things out.
I agree 100%

As far as open time, pilots are creatures of habit. Everyone looks out for themselves and not the greater good of the pilot workforce. There are many people at Compass and other airlines that use open time to supplement there income for various reasons (kids, toys, medical bills, student loans). Asking people to not pickup open time while honorable isn't going to be accepted here or anywhere.
I only pose the question because I do get that people have bills etc, but the same reasons you gave for picking up open time are the same ones scabs give to non scab captains at United/Continental today. I'm pretty sure everyone has bills to pay whether they scabbed or not.

I think people need to read LOA 2016-02 a little more carefully. Paragraph 5 states, "...so the difference between Step 1 and Step 2 will be two percent (2%) and the remaining current book percentage will be maintained between all other pay steps. "
While TSH, BG, MW and company may believe that "all other pay steps" only applies to FOs, the LOA doesn't say FOs only and the captain rates should go up accordingly to maintain current book percentage.
I have my grievance submitted and I hope every CA here does the same.

So asking a pilot not to cross a picket line is honorable but you don't expect that to happen?

Where in the LOA, specifically paragraph 5 does it say "it applies to FOs only?"
There are plenty of places in the contract where it uses the month of October as an example, does that mean the contract doesn't apply in June or November?
Don't sell yourself short here. You know that if the shoe were on the other foot, TSH would exploit every single word to their advantage. I know that the intent behind having paragraph 4 and paragraph 5 was that if they raise pay to the levels in paragraph 5, then it applies to "ALL other pay steps." That is verbatim from the LOA.

The portion you quoted states "year one first officer rates." Would you agree that the purview of the LOA is more than just first year FO rates?
If the LOA applies to more than just first year FO rates then why shouldn't it apply to all pay rates within the CBA?
I think as pilot group we need a paradigm shift away from accepting whatever crap is thrown at us and start standing up for what is right.
