‘moad’ 2020
#351
On Skynet, BS posted a video with some mechanics and a couple of FAQ's. In it, he lays out the timeline for processing the bid, to include running the new "Manpower Planning Tool" that will do training projections.
The critical point, at about the 3:50 mark, is when he says the training projections take about 15 hours to run, and the will only have time to run it once, maybe twice before just scrapping that part and releasing the MOAD without training like they always have. He said that would happen probably on Thursday. If all goes well, they will release the AE with the training projection.
The only strategic interpretation one can make is they plan to have this released before 1 June, so they can notify the displacements 30 days prior (IAW the PWA) for a massive 1 July conversion, to include large numbers of UNA. They already said most UNA will convert in July and August.
Brace yourselves, this will be quick, but painful.

It is though. It’s one thing telling pilots to be prepared, this goes far beyond that based on the council chairman’s opinion. It’s not against LMRDA but still uncalled for.... obviously just my opinion

Problem for C44 reps is there has been zero leadership seen. It’s as if they are a megaphone for whatever the 4th floor wants. BA is posting the same crap on Facebook, as he is doing in comms, and won’t even address an email. Much of the base will be decimated. At this point, that needs to be his hope. If the base isn’t decimated, he will be recalled, as will the rest of C44 who stands beside him.

Yes, they are all adults, but a lot of new ex-military(fighter guys) don't have a great wealth of experience regarding commercial aviation. Yes, they have heard the stories, but they have not lived it nor internalized it.
OBTW....I did not read the council newsletter so I don't actually know how agregious it was.

C44 advice is garbage.
its one thing to say “here’s the data, evaluate your seniority, finances, and likelihood of furlough and do what you need to do in your own shoes.”
telling the entire list from 12,000 and below to flee for the hills now (despite no one, not even the company, truly knowing what’s going to happen) is irresponsible.
one thing to inform and advise. Totally another to drop FUD like that based on assumptions. I’ve let them know that their tone is irresponsible. They don’t care. I’ll vote accordingly when able.
pretending that military guys and girls don’t know what to expect or can’t figure out what’s going on? Please. This is all trivial compared to what information any aviator regardless of training background is used to assessing and processing, let alone the younger generation raised on information management.

"Everyone has a plan until they are punched in the face"..... At least in my family, I didn't sugar coat it. I told my kids to plan on a furlough and to expect to be gone at least 2 years. It started as wait and see, get more clarity.....the advice has morphed into a punch in their head. Everybody gets to raise their kids the way they see fit...tough love or I am your best friend. There are times and places for both philosophies.
