Problem for C44 reps is there has been zero leadership seen. It’s as if they are a megaphone for whatever the 4th floor wants. BA is posting the same crap on Facebook, as he is doing in comms, and won’t even address an email. Much of the base will be decimated. At this point, that needs to be his hope. If the base isn’t decimated, he will be recalled, as will the rest of C44 who stands beside him.
Leadership is seeing the future and preparing for it. It isn't populist or easy. To some extent C44 is doing management's heavy lifting for them, since C44 is announcing bad news before management. It takes leadership to want the best for your pilots and take responsibility for trying to help them at your personal expense. Being right, but unpopular, sucks.

I think I might be one of the crazy ones but can someone please tell me if I am doing this math wrong. I have no clue how we could even come close to furloughing 2500 pilots and still be in a position for recovery. Almost 1800 pilots retire between now and end of 2022 which would bring us down to 12,857-2500=10,357 on the seniority list so roughly 9000-9500 active pilots flying by the end of 2022 if we did nothing. BS stated on Skyhub that the current projection is to have 11,500-12,000 active pilots for summer 2022 so maybe a seniority list of around 13,000. How could we realistically furlough 2500 pilots and have them all back by summer 2022. I understand these are just projections but if these are the real numbers they are looking at no way could we furlough that many pilots.

Same, talk about being on a bubble. If we do get furloughed I don’t see it lasting long for us. If we don’t, bring the bottom is going to suck but will be grateful to have a seat. Just hoping we don’t do something stupid and take a cut in hours on top of a displacement. At least if I’m eating a sh1t sandwich it will have a glass of beer to go with it.
