What beautiful lines. Graceful behind the ship, could drop a bomb and hit the ocean almost 100% of the time. Hell of a recovery tanker though.

But you said it was emission restricted. I tried to find more info about that but I could not.

Republic ordered 100 in 2018 without an obvious customer to operate them for. Seems like their 170’s are moving to Eagle and being flown at 65 seats, and they’ll have room to operate the new ones as a backfill.

Skywest also has 900s that were delivered new without 76 seats.

it’s a new ICAO restriction that requires aircraft manufactured after 2028 to meet new emissions standards.

Sorry, reading back my post was unclear. Starting after 2028, you can't buy new, scope compliant, ERJ 175s. This does not mean the ones in current operation have to be parked. So when the CRJ's reach end of life, there are no replacement aircraft available that wouldn't require a scope concession. The company is in the situation of needing to replace aircraft before another reaches end of life.

That issue is so far away it’s down in the noise. If needed after 2028 they will find a engine that can meet the scope restrictions. The manufactures won’t abandon the market.

Agree in principle. Even if they can't/won't re-engine, this is a non event for a very, very long time if ever, and a minor one even if it does manifest. Plenty of used AC well into the 2040's and other options will render this irrelevant.

And if they are not the right fit, they’ll be weeded out during training or probation. Apparently there are a few pilots that are complaining about having to fill out an application prior to flowing. Hopefully the first 250 pilots do not leave a bad impression.
