I would be shocked if future new hire class drops had no NYC positions. If there is a wide range of positions like there are now, unless you had an unusual amount of people in your class from the NE, you should be able to get NYC. I wouldn't be surprised if NYC still went to the bottom 1/3

There is a guy who posted on one of the widget book face pages that was asking about crashpad in SLC becuase he wanted NYC and didn't get it.....

I think that’s strictly due to the lack of available NYC positions. We have to be running low at this point. The next AE will fix that problem.
(For the new guys following along, the only positions that can be offered to new hires have to be left over from an AE. So those in the next few classes will have much more variety…but the first class post AE close will probably see A LOT of NYC)

I know One guy that had the same thing happened and the bid MD 88 in Atlanta and while he was there they closed the New York City 88 base. He ended up stuck down there for about a year and a half commuting from New York until he could hold 220.
It happens.
