In both of the above scenarios you would carry forward the remaining balance of your current seat lock to your new category in addition to your new 2 year seat lock.
I'm lost. So there isn't a 2 year seat lock if I want to switch airplanes and base? Or am I completely wrong.

PWA 22.G.2

”An entry level pilot will incur a 24-month category freeze.
Exception: A pilot who is in the last 12 months of such category freeze may be awarded an AE or VD to another base for which qualification training is required if he is unable to be awarded an AE or VD to such base in his current position in a given posting. In such event, the balance of his existing category freeze will be added to the category freeze resulting from the new position award.”

They give a few examples, but basically it’s only a 1 year freeze if you want to switch bases/airplane. But then it’ll be a 3 year lock at the new place.

It’s 2 years + whatever remains from your new hire seat lock. The exceptions to this where you can break a seat lock without adding it onto your new seat lock are when you bid your first CA seat or if the company opens up a brand new category (BOS 320 for example) and you bid to it when it first opens.

2 year NH seat lock unless you need to change planes to change bases. Then you can break your seat lock after a year (again only if required to change bases) and carry forward the balance of your current lock to your new seat lock.

you can also break any seat lock to take your first upgrade at DL and if they open a new category.

Default Seniority Website

What's the link or website that you can check your seniority for any given aircraft and base?
