Both will be doing a ton of sub 1000 and even sub 500 mile routes out of ATL. The 737 may become more junior at the bottom, but I doubt the overall seniority diverges too strongly. Probably more like an equalization.

The redeeming feature that the 737 has going for it right now is that it does 90% of Caribbean flying. If the Airbus starts taking a significant chunk of that, then god help the guppy drivers.

Pre-Covid, we had a descent amount of Caribbean layovers on 320.
now it seems most are gone…replaced with penalty lap turns. 🤦‍♂️🤬

all the pain (longer legs to finish, and customs); none of the fun (all inclusive resorts)

Not only Delta, but AA and United seem to have 737s that exclusively fly to the Caribbean. Is there an advantage that the 737 has over the bus when it comes to these destinations?

I've wondered that too - the only thing I can think is the maintenance reliability is pretty good on the 737. Rarely is there something that can't be MELed. Perhaps the Airbus has more glitches? Don't really know.

It does well sipping gas on 2-3 hour routes and especially in markets we try to grow in (like Dallas or Chicago for example).
Pre-covid, the A220 was doing off peak SEA-ATL

Greetings! What is the likelihood of a new hire with very low SSN being assigned ATL?

Passengers going on an all-inclusive booze vacation funded by CC miles don't care what plane they are riding in as long as they get there. Meanwhile business travelers paying with $$ have more discerning taste. Availability of Boeing parts and contract maintenance could also be a factor.

I've been told its a combination of a better dispatch rate compared to the 320 series, combined with the fact that most of those locations used 3rd party MX. So when the Dominican mechanic does need to fix something, avionics bay is ground level and lots of ability to pull CB's to reset a system, where as the 320 sits higher up and resetting things can be more involved than a simple turn in off and then back on kind of thing.
