Class Drop 1/20

Word from a friend is that the class drop for Jan 20 was as follows:

ATL320B: 8
DTW717B: 3
NYC220B: 3
NYC320B: 8
NYC765B: 10
NYC73NB: 10
NYC7ERB: 6
SLC73NB: 4

Its nice to see the amount and variety of aircraft available to new hires

That’s 1,608 open positions (using numbers posted above). If the company intends to hire 2400 this year, we’ll need another AE at least by late summer to refresh open positions for FOs. If this indicates their intentions on hiring, it’s pretty impressive.

There are over 15,000 today. With 500 retirements this year, it will be approaching 17,000 this time next year.

The increase in headcount is partially due to previous plans, partially due to another 700 pilots required by C19.
