Hello, reserve gs question

got a 2 day gs that carries into dec…. 30-01. 30th is X, 01 is first day on call. My December timecard is not showing anything. Dont i get some love for flying <18 on first on call day? Or did i just basically sign up to work for free on december 1st?

thanks

You're working against your reserve obligation on December 1st. <18 hours (F code) only applies to the block of the first day (if the first day was a LC day).

Zero utilization on reserve this month.

3 days CQ. If not for CQ, I'd not have touched an airport all month.

G is correct in this case. F (and the associated pay) would only apply if the first day of your GS was on a LC day, and you accepted it with <18 hours notice.

No. G code is correct. He’s saying the only way you are due extra pay for working on a LC day is an F code. You get an F code for working a green slip rotation that starts on a LC day AND is basically an early report rotation that you otherwise aren’t legal to be given as a reserve assignment.

Small point, but it’s more accurate to say “earlier than required availability”. IOW, you can accept a F#1 40 hours prior to report for a “GS” rotation which reports at, say 0900 on your first day of reserve.

Often, this only makes sense in the OP’s situation: the last opportunity to get anything, so it’s that or nothing.

Edit: tennis beat me to it. What he said.

Yeah I wish they’d change the vernacular on the F code. Call it “GS when ineligible for assignment” or “GS with less than legal reserve notification” or something.

Working for free on the second day, sure. But you still get single pay no credit above your November guarantee plus a banked PB day for today. I'd consider that a win if you wanted to fly anyway.
