Game over for me on 2024 pay. Not working over the holiday so y’all will have one less GS competitor. Enjoy whatever you’re doing. Happy turkey day.

There are clear benefits for commuters and locals alike to exercise their negotiated non-contactable benefit. After CS observes enough of us exercising this contractual right, how long before they proceed to the next step of this cat and mouse game? Maybe they start exercising their contractual right to extend our short calls. Now instead of 6 hours, they assign 8! Or 12!
I'm not suggesting we "walk on eggshells" to avoid escalation. I'm merely envisioning some type of punitive response typical of management.

From: Pilot
They could counter with an increase in the length of SC periods, but that has negative consquences for them too. Primarily in that it pushes that pilot's future availability for a rotation or SC continually later until you reach a point they are practically useless on a reserve day. The 6 hour SC blocks work perfectly with the 18 hour break requirement to keep a pilot on the same SC time for their entire block (unless given a rotation obviously). With 9 hour blocks a 1400 SC pilot can't start SC on day 2 until 1700 then on day 3 until 2000, and so on. Plus it's not super common but espeically with a morning SC 9 hour SC (or the 2359 one) you could get into issues bumping up against the RAP+FDP limit.

SC's used to be 12...then company said we were not very useful in the last couple of hours so they cut it down to 9 on their own....the 18hr LC is a major factor (IMO) on the current 6 hour SC...it allows scheds to assign a pilot a certain time slot, say 1000-1600, then if not used, give them 18 hours notice to start another 1000 SC the next day.

Or you could look at this as our response to thier escalations and violations. (plural more than 1) Do what benefits you in accordance with the PWA. It's a never ending battle where you either fight or give in, that's the binary choice. You see the choice managment has made. Whatever you image thier next move will be, would refraining from using your PWA rights prevent it?
