My case for 23 L.8. RRPY was just denied, stated it was not due on account of weather.
The Weather Exception in the SRH does not apply. How can they pay the skipper appropriately and then turn around and give me the ole' "act of god" BS? This is starting to feel malicious. Preying on a guy with a high seniority number, perhaps?

alternatively go to your CPO and pre-grieve it with the assistance of your LEC reps. Then the company will end up paying your L8 pay (I’m assuming it is due here) plus a 5.40 for the union guy. If they can’t be bothered to follow the PWA might as well cost them more.

You’ll want to file an STS report.

Maybe I'll submit a TPS report (with a cover page on it) too.

So here's the exact verbiage "The Weather Exception: if a rerouted pilot is not scheduled to release at their base within the time limitation due to their origin or destination airport being closed or weather on their routing, the pilot will not receive reroute pay under 23 L. 8 or 9."
It seems like you could blame almost any delay on that (airplane was late inbound due to weather so we RRd you to a different flight, timed out waiting for a wheels up time, etc.) I wish it was more clearly defined, or maybe I don't? I am waiting for a week to pass on my last trip but I'm thinking they are going to deny due to the weather exception. At least we have 23 L. 4...

I was just about to post a question on this weather exception.

Not just WB or FRMS. Bottom line, know when you are contactable and when you are not. Don't respond when you are not. Also know how they must contact you. Live scheduler for everything but SC notification. Also know there are only 2 times you are required to check your schedule for reserves. Line holders 0. Also, mixed crews RES and REG are NOT required to notify each other of thier changes. Just make sure the most restrictive LATT is not violated.

Within 30 min of block in from RES rotation…that’s it.
Must be done via icrew or VRU…Micrew doesn’t count.

I look at this one as an unspoken/unwritten required schedule check. How else would you know if you had a 10am show or SC if you didn't look at your schedule on that X-day? Especially if your a commuter. You'd be potentially totally hosing yourself.
