I've been getting a 9 hour SC starting at 2359. The rest of mine have been 6.

I think that’s the only consistent 9 hour one but who knows these days

yes, but you don’t have to be there until the 2 hour mark into SC. They’re planning on it being delayed.. so take your time and don’t rush to try and get there before you have to

no they cannot. This isn’t that hard. The report MUST be at or after 2 hours past short call start. If you’re getting reports while NC within 2 hours of SC start you’re due assignment pay for A day and an affected pilot needs to be identified and paid.

Yes for "nornal" day off that ends at midnight.

PWA uses the term "non fly day" and it don't say "noon"...it says "12 hrs prior"

So yes, when your XX day ends at midnight, "12 hours" prior is noon, but the nuance is that this applies to *any* non fly day (other than vacation), namely 30hrs of rest and PB/PR days.

So a pilot can be used as early as 10 hours after their 30hrs of rest or PB/PR day ends, but scheduler has to place it on your scheudle NLT "12 hours" prior, and that 12 hours prior isn't going to be noon because more than likely, the rest/PB/PB day isn't ending at midngiht.

SideStick: I beleive you understand the nuance but I posted it for others who may not.

What is the strategy for notifying CS about being non-contactable for first 2 hours of SC when coming off a non-fly day? When should you call to notify them? Since you're not contacted at 12-hours prior to the end of the non-fly day, unless you're hawking your schedule you might not know when exactly you've been assigned short call for the following day. Call them right at noon when your schedule is locked-in? Call anytime between then and midnight (during which in the meantime they might assign a trip reporting within that 2 hour period)?

I've never gotten pushback calling them late in the evening. It's really to your benefit to notify them as soon as you know so they don't put an assignment <2 hours on your schedule before you can notify them

12 hours prior is the latest they can assign SC (or anything) that's when I check my schedule and if there's a SC I call to let them know I will be NC for the first 2 hours.

Is the company actually giving SC to people in the one day bucket? Is it just the early period from 4-10? Will they take you off the previous days SC obligation early to get you the required rest if you yellow slip for a SC on your last day?
