Obviously no, but I think I know what you were getting at. Here's a question:

REG line, and a trip of yours that's a week away goes 23K for equipment sub, and the revised rotation actually pays more. And then you PB it. Should you be paid for the original, the revised, or the greater of the 2?

I'm not 100% sure as I have never had 23k, but I'm pretty sure you would get the greater of the 2 at the time the PB was executed. Seems to me that DDH should be similar.

Nobody is, or at least nobody should be, arguing that reroute pay pays for something you don't fly. It's VERY clear that you only get paid reroute pay for reroutes that you actually fly.

You get paid for the rotation as shown at the time your PB day request processes.

Really? Interesting. So lets say you PBS bid a super juicy rotation that is perfect for your PB days. And then 23k blows it up and reduces its value. You can no longer use PB days to capture the original rotation guarantee?

I'm not talking about washing PB days, I'm just asking about using PB to drop a bid-packet awarded trip (that happened to be changed later.)

In any case, I do think this makes a case for DDH being treated similarly.

Are folks talking past one another? Reroute is not the issue, per se. The issue is about DDH, and how the pay is treated if, at the time you notify the company you are DV8, the rotation shows a higher pay than guarantee, specifically Carve pay.

You can’t DV8 a reroute (except the end of that reroute if it is a DH).

I agree. And I should have been more clear that there actually is an instance where you get RR pay that you don't fly because DDH.

Resetting, my last few posts were trying to lay a case that DDH (DV8 w/e) are less in the realm of reroute, and more in the realm of what happens when you PB-day drop a trip (and lock in the value of said trip.)

I see what you’re saying. I was thinking along the lines of washing the first day. With 23k you should always be paid no less than the original rotation value. If your new rotation is lower value then you should be made whole. My guess is icrew will not handle it properly when it processes the PB drop and someone will have to manually fix it. If the new rotation is higher value my guess is you’ll get that higher value with the drop.
