You wash a PB day for say 9 hours, this is pay and credit. Once above 80 hours that month you can deposit any earned hours above 80 into your full service bank and then use those hours to purchase vacation days. Rinse and repeat thru all your PBs.
Caveat is you can only deposit 20 hrs per bid period. At least it used to be that way. No access to PWA right now.

As it is contract survey season,,,,, a couple bank items I’d like to see changed.

1. Raise the max hours you can have in bank. I use it to buy 10 days vaca every year. With the increase in value of a vaca day, it pretty much wipes out my bank.

2. Lower the threshold to deposit hours. Maybe 75? Or better yet, link it to ALV.

What if we supplement the bank with a PTO type system? Something that accrues each paycheck and can be used to drop trips, buy vacay, etc. Doesn't roll over and you can't get paid out for it, but would allow for more flexible time off with pay and not have the onus of building up personal bank.

According the survey we are considering getting paid for the APD which would be a start, but this would be a step further.

APD was originally a paid trip drop. Went away in Chapter 11.

Paid APD is my #1 QOL want. More bank flexibility is #2. Paid discretionary time off is a must. We are beholden to the VAC bid and move up process and the limited vacation available during desirable times. Regular entry level employees get 2 weeks and it's all discretionary. We should at least have 1 week discretionary.

Seems like a viable option to the company’s latest ‘deferred compensation plan’ idea. Also agree with increasing PTO, maybe we could label it something like single vacation days.
