They can cry "poor" all they want but after the giant EDV pay raises they're funding, ain't nobody gonna believe it, including the mediator.

I think the EDV deal makes it much more likely that the NMB takes us to a cooling off period. Splashing all that money on a subsidiary after 24 days of negotiating while continuing to stonewall us after 1000+ days is a bad look from any angle.

I'm curious if the proposed new permanent scales at 9E will move the needle at all, considering they raise pay by an average of 55-60%.

I'll take that bet. I've seen this movie already.

You've seen this movie... with the Moakies in charge. And as I recall, you didn't have too big of a problem with the production (or lack thereof) back then.

New players this time, don't you think?

You guys are delusional, Endeavor pilots now start at a higher rate than Delta. Mesa pilots are out earning WB A's. This is getting ridiculous, man up and stick up for your profession. Look at United, you are in the minority if you think we are willing to settle for table scraps.

With that said, we have to see how the strike vote goes but I think our union needs to temper our expectations. Other things to consider are the risk/reward for continuing to drag things out vs truly finding the middle ground. I’m bearish on the macro economic picture for the near term and I believe whatever leverage we had recently is going to diminish rapidly.
Delta published their guidance, they are planning on making a lot of money. You should run for LEC and get us a quick deal, so how that goes over. Or you guys should run a campaign to oust ALPA and start your own Union and run on the position of being a realist. Tell pilots that they will never improve QOL, never keep up with inflation and never get paid more for training and vacation. Those positions would make great campaign posters. I'm sure you'd get lots of support. Start a gofund me with your positions and I'll donate 10 cents to your campaign. That should get you off the ground and running.

Ahhhhhh, so some one disagrees or has a different perspective on what expectations are for a raise in the next contract and they are labeled delusional.

I be curious to see if and when we get a new contact in 6 months or 6 years who will be closer to "delusional" I have a feeling many on this board will be surprised.

You clearly are delusional if you think your "realist" position is going to fly in the current environment with what just happened at United with their "realist" position. You are in the minority and are delusional if you think your position would fly here. What other word would you like me to use? Like I said, start a GoFundMe and run on the position of being a "realist" and post your positions. I'll be the first to donate. See how far you get.

Agree with you on the delusional part...it's ok to have differing opinions. On the second part, many swore up and down (some quite indignantly) that if we voted down TA1, that we wouldn't get anything better. Yet, some of those very people admitted they were wrong and ate crow. Of course they followed it up with all the excuses "new CEO, UAL agreement, blah blah blah." Bottom line, they were adamant that they were right and ended up being wrong (their words).
