Sounds like we put someone in who will give up PB days to get a deal done.

Don't see that happening, but if it did, it wouldn't make it to MEMRAT. At least not without some serious contractual gains that I'm certain the company would never agree too...

All NO PB days will do is ensure a no vote from me, and if it passes because the line crowd likes everything else, ensure that I will never fly another GS on reserve. As it is, I'm already on the hook 2ish more days than a lineholder most months. (what's an extra X day, ain't seen that **** in months) and now you want me to work even MORE days.

He could try, but is he really the yay/nay on any potential deal? It didn't work for Donatelli and if he did try something foolish like that - it wouldn't work now. Cmon - you know this.

Except you’re missing the point that people who have PB days in the bank use them to drop trips or reserve days that drives more GS’s for everyone.

Yep..The bountiful GS at the end of the month, is often caused by Res GSers not being available.

GSs are pretty much driven by insufficient reserves.

I used to basically do the job of Crew Tracking, Crew Scheduling and Training Scheduling at my job immediately previous to Delta (some who were there, remember the constant Death Metal from my office, and the stacks of Diet Coke that was left as a peace offering to not completely screw people)

In a properly manned category, we would have enough on RES to cover all 12-24 hour out needs, and by enough, I mean guys on call, who can cover the whole trip (talking 3-4 day Domestics) and enough on Short Call to cover the last minute "oh crap, Dave got into a accident on the way to the airport, Mark woke up with the runs"

If we were properly manned GSs would only really come into play in no-joke real IROPS, such as "LGA shut down for WX on the same day JFK is on single runways ops, DTW and MSP are de-icing with reduced arrival rates for snowplows" not "oh, we ran the op a bit hot IROP"

That would require 3 more x days a month, there's no way the company gives up that productivity.

Feel much the same way.

This is not a popular opinion on this board, however.

(To be fair, if I had a de facto monopoly on GS and extra days off, I wouldn't want that contract sniping loop to disappear either. )
