Is this a group plan, not optional, where our younger pilots have no choice?

If so, the difference for an about to retire pilot who just gets $$ to add to their personal nut pile is a lot different than a new hire who has to give the fruits of their labor to a community food bank.
We will all just have to wait and see then won’t we.

And please stop the Bull**** about any money offered to senior takes away from junior. Why don’t you have angst about the pay rates then? Isn’t the 350a pay really taking away the 717B pay using your logic?

Would you have the same angst if the new plan was no increase for folks retiring in the next 5 years, 150k a year annuity for the folks retiring from 5-15 years and then 200k for folks after that? I’m willing to bet not.

So what demographic are you wanting to target to not do better than a person with one day on the property?

The biggest winners were the guys with the stones to bail out, then come back as an RJ pilot. They are getting VEOP pay + regional pay above Delta rates.

I'm with you as a hard NO on the Min Balance plan. It is a cash grab, plain and simple.

Heck. I am senior and am against the min balance as proposed. One of the most vocal proponents on FB has most likely has one of the larger retirement nest eggs of any RD pilot when you look at note, claim, PBGC etc. I have a friend who is in the exact demographic and the numbers are pretty darn good.

Sure. I guess if the whole contract is amazing, it may not get as a hard of a look, but if Retro, or other important areas are lagging and yet we have found a billion to further fund Daisy’s exodus, it may become toxic.

And many of us were eligible - not the whole list, but a significant percentage of those who might of wanted to go. I don't remember any 35 year old complaining they didn't get offered the VEOP at the time.
I'm not 35……….

Are you one of those who think that "if it is a different section of the contract then it is a completely separate pile of $" ?

ALL Delta pilots should be treated EQUALLY going forward. All the special deals for a few do is create long-lasting resentment that our pilot group and union do not need.

Does that mean each and every Delta pilot should be paid the exact same pay rate? That would seem to be the most equal treatment of all....🙄😁

On the subject of MEC chair election, is there a reason we don’t directly elect the MEC chair?

Totally a guess, but possibly the same reason we don't elect the president by popular vote. The biggest bases (population centers) could swing the vote.

Isn't that somewhat already baked in with ATL having more votes?
