Rumor from the schoolhouse that we are going to hire 200 a month for all of 2023.

Maybe preparing to cover flying from Endeavor as they implode?

I think 24/5/5 would be a better thread title now that all 3 of American’s regionals are paying $100,000 bonuses.

The other regionals (including Endeavor) will have to match this or cease to exist.

Looks like the regional gravy train might be ending in the next year or two.

UAL AA SWA DAL are hiring over 8000 a year minimum. Peaks in 3 years then 5 more years of massive retirements.

It is going to get far worse.

Tier 2 carriers and regionals are in for severe pain.

With regard to the gravy train some clueless legacy pilots think the regional rates will magically disappear. The Endeavor rates are contractual and run through 2029.

Hardly a year or two.

Historically the rates don't "magically disappear", the most expensive regionals just get shut down. Start up a new regional or two with lower rates and manufacture a scenario to kill the expensive ones. Many "clueless legacy pilots" have the t-shirt.
