It absolutely does. I live it. Easy high credit one day WS goes to the senior guy who’s already had his GS and is padding his line. Could have gone to me as a GS. What am I missing?

GS threshold is usually the reason. Drop schedule, GS, pick up WS for the threshold. Done it many times.

“Usually the reason”. I’ll respectively point out I’m quite familiar with how trip coverage works here in my base and seat. It’s the regular senior guys and the names are well known. These are guys I flew with as an FO, how they operate is no secret.
Happened today, familiar name WS’d a day trip, he blocked 1:32 for a 5:15 payday. Could have been a 10:30 payday for someone’s 1st GS. Totally within his contractual rights and I don’t fault him for working the system to his favor.
My original point is it’s not fair for anyone to attempt to shame others for working within the framework of a contract we collectively agreed to.

I don’t have an issue with the occasional OOBWS “good deal”. Especially for a NH FO unable to AE away from his initial assignment. What I DO have a big problem with is people flying (almost) all their trips in a base they either 1) cannot hold, or 2) would take a major seniority hit to bid where they actually fly. It’s unseemly, IMO. You want to fly out of the base where you live? Bid it.
That said, and as you said Trip, it’s legal and in the contract. But as mentioned already, be prepared to read the room. I’d be all for limiting OOBWS somehow, not to the point where you can’t pick up one, or even two. But to where you can’t feast solely on them. JMO.

Let me say it loud and clear for all those in the back of the room, those that aren't familiar with RG, or those that are so far up his arse their vision is clouded....
During Covid, when the bottom 20% of the seniority list was looking down the barrel of a furlough with the letters in hand, this amazing "leader" in Flight Ops, during a live town hall said "what's a SIL' with a sh!t eating grin on his face and let out a little chuckle...that was his response to a user submitted questions about the possibility of SIL's to prevent furloughs.
He F@CKING LAUGHED while the pilots he "leads" were about to get kicked to the street. It was amazingly convenient that the 2,558 WARN letters that went out only went back to Dec 2016 hires...in case you are wondering, RG was hired Nov 2016.
I wouldn't pizz on him if he was on fire.

So is picking up a GS with pilots on Furlough. I am not saying it’s the same thing, at all. Just pointing out there is a line, and some shades of grey short of it with varying degrees of appropriateness to different people.

Was told he was a rescue swimmer or diver. Heard it from Teresa, the old military affairs rep.
