Because I was curious, I looked.... There are 20 pilots hired in 2014 who were under 30. Of those, all but 8 were 29. The youngest was 26y8m.
For contrast, compare that to the number hired in 2022 (the first full year of hiring post-Covid) who were under 30 : 485. Of those, 24 pilots were hired under the age of 25. Those are the lottery winners - but out of ~2400 hired that year, 24 ain't that many.

Never intimated anyone was beneath.
I'm not going discuss issues with someone half my age and barely a 1/32 of my experience here at this air line. It's justifiable and I've done this on 2 occasions when interfacing with management. Also, I was management for many years. It's totally acceptable and not frowned on. Just be polite and non confrontational.

Also worth mentioning, all points in this chart were experienced pilots from many backgrounds before being hired at Delta.
