Because I was curious, I looked.... There are 20 pilots hired in 2014 who were under 30. Of those, all but 8 were 29. The youngest was 26y8m.
For contrast, compare that to the number hired in 2022 (the first full year of hiring post-Covid) who were under 30 : 485. Of those, 24 pilots were hired under the age of 25. Those are the lottery winners - but out of ~2400 hired that year, 24 ain't that many.

Oh I'm sure. But there are also a few super obnoxious CA influencers that aren't in the junior subset. One of them acts like they are saving the world in every video.

I wonder how those "junior" 765 and 330 Captains in NYC are working out. I can't even imagine what a disaster it must be having "junior" Captains on the A350. How can they even handle the pressure? At least they were hired before age 65 passed and had to suffer through 5 years of stagnation.

From: 7ER B...whatever that means.
Or what about the 717A for several years who went 330B for 5 years then 320A for 2 years, decided domestic sucked and went back 330B the decided to become an ACP because it suited their circumstances better. Does that person have standing to discuss CPO biz with captains? Or do they know bunk?
For the record, put me in the camp of those who can't believe there are A's out there who think an ACP is beneath them.

I'm not going discuss issues with someone half my age and barely a 1/32 of my experience here at this air line. It's justifiable and I've done this on 2 occasions when interfacing with management. Also, I was management for many years. It's totally acceptable and not frowned on. Just be polite and non confrontational.

Wait, 1/32? So you've been here *quick napkin math* about 320 years? Checks out.

Well that is verifiably false.
Mmhmm. I asked becaude I was curious what kind of response they could expect from captain HK because I know someone who fits that description. Good to know.
