Thanks.

Really depends on market and time of year. Some destinations like Hawaii can be a crapshoot on every day during low seasons, during high seasons, forgetaboutit!

Generally though if your very flexible on times and layover locations you can move about the system.

Hard to say, really depends on the destination and the season. As an example you'd think it would be easier to Non Rev to LIM in December, but that's the beginning o their summer so loads are ridiculous.

Does the increase in reserve pay actually begin July 1st if this is passed? I haven't found the implementation schedule. I keep hearing about it does begin July 1 if passed, but would like a concrete answer.

Yes it does. MOU #9 (I think that's the right number) is posted on the Section 6 link on the dalpa website. It lists the implementation schedule. Anything not listed on there with a deferred implementation will go into effect on DOS.

how about the extra short-call day, and one less X day? Would that start in July too?

Well if you read the TA & NNP then you'd already know the answer. ;)

The increase in the number of X-days at ALVs below 77:00 (reserve guarantee below 75:00) and in overstaffed categories will be effective October 1, 2012.

The seventh short call to which a pilot may be converted in a bid period in which the ALV is 77:00 or higher (reserve guarantee 75:00 or greater) will be effective concurrently with the implementation of the new FARs which reduce the maximum allowable length of a short call to 14 hours

That answer (regarding time of implementation) is not in the TA itself; at least not the original version I read.

That's because it's in the implementation timeline MOU. The email from ALPA about it came June 12th. None of the implementation schedule is in the TA. It's in a negotiated side letter. In this case, MOU #9.
