If you want to continue living in the past, have at it. I've moved on. The only reason that I even bothered getting involved in this particular pity party is that I am bored, and the stock market is doing fine.

But now that you mention it, I do remember him now. How could I forget?

I'm sure you don't. You're one of the most prolific posters here and have been on other boards as well.

I don't know why on earth you are so hung up on this. The contract was ratified, and is now our CBA. The thing to do going forward is to make it better. I think the minimum BLH floor should be more in the 2.something range. No contract is ever going to be perfect. Even the SWA guys have their issues. What we have to do is the best we can at the time, and improve when we have the opportunity. Unlike the Democrats, we have to stop blaming the other guys and deal with what we have in front of us.

And FWIW, had I heard one solid argument as to how a no vote would have resulted in a better deal, I would have joined you. I never did. Not one single solitary reason other than Hopey Changey.

T, I'll take that to heart. But I want to drive home a point as I see it is that we minimize if not eliminate our greatest replacement threats. I see the greatest threat as large regional jets. It's like playing defense on your own five yard line, I see the greatest threat as a run and will use the back of the endzone and short field to help eliminate the threat of a pass. I saw the size of DCI as a pass and a large jumbo RJs as a run, and would rather have held their run game in check at 255 jets and make them choke on the 50 seater economics.

We didn't do that and now they have more large RJs which are better replacements of a mainline jet than a CRJ-200.

Next time, bigger ratios, put the mainline fleet counts back in, and as a realist the only thing at this point we can do with all these new big RJs is to demand sunsets on the contracts.

and above all else, no more jumbo RJs. That's why I talk about it. as to the rest off the contract outside of staffing changes and so forth, I won't complain. it is what it is and I hope it's a win. I'm not cheering against the contract just railing on section 1.

peace?

I like the part where Delta admits in its SEC filing that a "critical" component to their refleeting strategy, with it's mainline growth, was the new pilot contract. Glad to see that there were clear thinkers involved in the process, mainline growth as a result, a reduction in super jumbo 76 seat aircraft, limits on the number of 70-seat aircraft, tightened domestic and international CS language and global JV language. :)

Ok, lets change the direction of the discussion.

Here is the question proposed; What Items do you want improved or changed in our current PWA?

We may have more than just the FT/DT LOA to improve our PWA across multiple sections, and now is the time to start forward looking on what items we want to pinpoint and then discuss.

As to the last part, you are correct and we got aircraft not jet protection at 70 seats and below but the quid was 102 70 seat jets. They would have had to swap those 70's out for those 76 seat jets.

Either way, the vote is long gone, and we have a PWA. Move forward, I have.

The quid was not 102 70-seat jets. The quid was 70 70-seat jets and the quo was a reduction in the max number of 76-seat jets that could be authorized, a reduction in 70-seat aircraft from unlimited to 102, a reduction in the number of 50-seat aircraft from unlimited to eventually 125, a new "100-seat" category for the mainline, a mainline to DCI block hour ratio which drives an ever higher percentage of system block hours to the mainline, better domestic code-share language, better international code share language and global joint venture protections.

At the end of it all, we have far better scope, with hard caps on a much smaller regional fleet and mainline growth. Oh yeah, and a bigger pay check.

No, you didn't, try again. What language "guarantees" their right to grow their fleet of 76-seat aircraft.

When I have vacation as a reserve, I want all of my vacation. If I receive 13 days off without vacation, I want 20 days with vacation. I want the company to stop stealing my vacation days because I'm on reserve.
