I hope not. If so I would have been better to apply there years ago instead. No way the bottom of our list would fare well in that one.

Only good thing is I guess ALPA could say they took care of the AK code share problem.

Wondering how many more of us 2010 hires will jump ship. SW is sounding better and better(at least people like working there). Time to get my resume updated!!

Man great minds think alike? or is Jinx sufficient :D

Well, this means its likely NOT a merger. Additionally the TA reduced the amount of flying AK could do. Maybe something with a SEA expansion for Intl? Dunno....

Thanks for the offer! I had a '46 J3 (C65) for years, but it was destroyed in a hurricane in 2004. Although I'm based in ATL, I live in central Florida, 85 miles south of MCO. I do pass through MSP on the way to NRT so there is a good chance I will get up there and give you a shout before I do.

Is yours on floats? I've always wanted to get my float ticket. I've flown a buddies J3 on floats a few times...until he flipped it a few years ago.

There is a class of 15 returnees that just started and as many as 150 will be coming back over the next 9 months. Most are military leaves. A big group is finishing their 20 years.

Re. keeping the DC 9's, can you explain why, "This was fought tooth and nail by flight operations..."

Are the guys in Flt. Ops. trying to get rid of mainline airframes/jobs??

Seems odd 'Floperations' would want to dump airplanes, no matter how old, until the replacements show up. What is up with that?

The company is dumping RJ50's, I HOPE we keep the DC9's as long as possible to recover that outsouced flying.

And for BuzzPat, Love the bling on the new avatar!

If I had to guess, the marketing types are busy looking through the thesaurus to come up with a superlative for "enhanced marketing agreement."

Most likely AS will drop the AMR codeshare and in turn DAL expands the AS codeshare...

Cheers

Well so far this week we've heard rumors of AK adding service into SLC from LAX, LAS, PDX, and SEA. Now we have rumors of AF taking over the SLC-CDG flight. I think management has found their way of dealing with upcoming retirements and that seems to be outsourcing enough flying so they can shrink with retirements and not hire. So far I'm not liking any of the rumors that are going around this place since the new TA.
