Boomer,

This displacement bid was not all bad ...

Here's Delta's newest fleet addition. Make note of the Douglas emblem by the door. There are seven available and two that we can get down off poles as needed for operational spares. We are not afraid of orphan airplanes according to Mr. Anderson, this fits our needs. What could possibly go wrong?

Better fuel economy than the MD88 and fast. Our MD88 pilots are having a hard time adjusting to the slower landing speeds and the extra lift from the wing in the flare, as you will see. As soon as us Post Certification Line Test Pilots and Work Around Engineers are able to Standard Text a Boeing 767 checklist for this thing and the lie flat mod lines are done .. it is all yours. We are still not sure if we are going to send the fleet to Mexico to repaint the cockpits and half the DV windows to match the MD88's. We are trying for a common type. Painting half the window as to reduce visibility would make the
~ 717/MD-95/DC-9-30/50/80/MD88/MD90/MD90 from Asia/MD-TU144/Boeing 2707 ~ an easier transition according to Program Manager, Vlad Idontflyit.

MD88 pilots will feel right at home. For the rest, drink 5 cups of coffee before attempting to fly the airplane ... and whatever you do, don't defer the anti skid although the Boeing book says you can on a 737 .. .

Oh' and the passengers tend to slide out of the lie flat seats when we hit the burners ... so we are going to mount the seats backwards.

Thats what I am saying.

Hey fellas, I'm going to the MD88 after more than a decade on airbus. I was looking at cockpit photos online and I had a couple of questions:

Where do you put your lunch tray? I don't see a table anywhere, but maybe that steering wheel thingy folds out of the way?

Which one of those screens is the ND?

Where are the "Hold" and "Imediate Exit" buttons. I assume you might have to enter a holding pattern at some point, yet I see no method to do that?

What are all those clock-looking things on the panel with the little mechanical hands pointing all crazy directions?

You take turns holding each others tray so the other can eat, its called CRM!!

The big clear one in front, when you push fwd on that thingy that's in the way the Nose goes Down and that clear screen fills full of colors

Ae results have been posted in dbms.

Where is this dbms you speak of? That's the message on iCrew, but nothing shows up anywhere that I look.

iCrew is the graphic display for DBMS - behind all that pretty stuff in iCrew is a text based system.

Go here to find what we're talking about:

Where as the compass is the "screen" you can see... if you angle the mirrors right.
