So if there are both displacements and openings ..... who gets into the openings first? (Besides seniority) Does a displaced guy get first shot at an opening before anyone else evan if they are junior?? I guess I am asking after the displacement dominoes start to fall where in the pecking order is a guy who is just trying to bid to a new base??

Seniority still rules. If there is a vacancy you can hold, even if your category doesn't have a surplus, you get it over a junior pilot who is being MD'd.

Refund:

Seniority rules, but my understanding is the displacements are run first. You can't advance into an opening that does not exist. You can displace and make an opening by forcing someone junior to you out.

If you are trying to bid a new base that you think you'll want to stay at, you might want to bid the following:

Advanced Entitlement to Base/Equipment/Seat
Voluntary Displacement to Base/Equipment/Seat

If you are not sure you want to stay there, then bid a Mandatory Displacement to Base/Equipment/Seat to avoid getting locked.

The question for me is whether displacements in the 767 ATL are based on a true reduction in need or being displaced because of the trickle down effect of other displacements? Because I was talking to a 767 crew tonight and it seems like you guys are flying a lot.

I am hoping there is not a reduction in need even if there are capacity cuts coming.

The lack of need is on the ER, not domestic. So what they will do is cut domestic and keep the ER a little fatter staffed.

Reality Show

Can you imahing the Latest and Greatest being turned into a reality game show.
ACL would be the host
Forgot to bid would be the comic relief.

Maybe turned into a drinking game, where whenever anyone flaims someone, they have to drink!!

ACL would speak and they Applause light would come on.....

We start filming after the Aug AE/Displacement!!!

Now taking bets on what categories are gonna have displacements...

My guess:

ATL767
SLC767
ATL7ER
CVG7ER
possibly NYC7ER...

Vacancies in the 777, fluf, and mad doggy dog.

One more checklist and I'm going to post all the Pinnacle bold face checklists we had when I first got hired... 27!

Second hand from the LAX CP - LAX Base minus 5%. All LAX domestic 767 to -ER.

Hey, where is that "Mother of all Bids" the "Unprecedented Growth" I've been hearing about for ten years?

Insert comment about DCI here____________

You do realize that by the end of next year DCI/Airlink will have shrunk 25% from its combined peak number of aircraft, right? And that there will be over 600 DCI pilots on furlough by the end of September? (360 plus CMR, 136 ASA, 110 MAH plus others from Mesa/RAH not directly attributable to DCI)
