Ummmmm, I could be wrong but I believe that DC9 & MD88 pay the same. It's likely that many DC9 FO's could end up in the M88 so their pay will remain the SAME.
p.s. Was it NWA that decided to park the DC9's? ;) |

Not making value judgments but the 3rd year 88 rate for 1 jan 10 is 88 and the 9 rate is 87.29. It's kinda ironic is all, getting displaced to more money. My point was not a North/South one. But since you brought it up... The 9s were going away anyway, the North business plan said so. Thanks to the merger, those guys have jobs. That goes for me too, as the South has pulled back from the 07/08 numbers.
29, what do you plan to do? Raise (bid up) fold (md somewehre) or stand pat? |

When the 9s really get parked then we can talk about who decided to park them. Those airplanes refuse to be parked. Nobody puts baby in the corner.

FTB, what's all that?

I sat next to a NY 777 A on the commute the other day. He said it would take 86 hours in the 765 and 92 hours in the ER to equal 777 reserve pay. He lived in Maine and said it was just as easy to commute to DTW than it was JFK, two directs a day. My money says most the NY 777 guys go to DTW.

29, what do you plan to do? Raise (bid up) fold (md somewehre) or stand pat? I was wrong. The 88 pays more then the DC9. In regards to my earlier post, I do apologize for throwing punches. I believe you were just making an observation, & I wrongfully jumped on you for it. I guess the rolleyes set me off. :p When or who decided the DC9's would be parked is a moot point, as it will be done eventually. I too am glad for the merger, as I believe without it many of us would be on the street right now. I'm glad that we have come together so quickly, & while the pain is far from over I would say to this point this has to be one of the most successful mergers ever. We should all be proud of that. satchip, I don't think you have to worry about me. I'm in the bottom 150, & my only real goal is to stay based in the Midwest. I'm happy on the DC9, and I'll gladly fly it until they park the last one. I'm considering MD88 in MSP, & I will try to exercise my recall rights to the 320, but I don't think I'll bid SLC 320. The commute on reserve would be a disaster. Cheers :) |
